Pchko: Sonic Disruption and the Radiography of Latin American Asphalt
Founded in 2020 by brothers Andrés and Ricardo Daza, Pchko is a visceral aesthetic exercise that uses music to trace a poetic radiography of the contemporary metropolis. The project emerges from a profound geographical and existential duality: the solar, coastal roots of Cartagena colliding with the gray tension and chaotic energy of Bogotá. This collision births a sound they define as Acid/Indie Rap, where the Colombian gaita and llamador drum are not mere ornaments but protagonists in a disruptive urban narrative.
Pchko’s conceptual core is unique: it reimagines the city as both a daily battlefield and a temporary nest. Their lyrics navigate the thin line between sarcasm, nostalgia, and social commentary, giving a voice to the multitude of travelers inhabiting the sidewalks and streetlights of the Colombian capital. Musically, the project has evolved from the rhythmic raw power of early dembow and rap beats into a mature, experimental exploration where the production embraces noise and structural breaks to make room for introspective maturity.
Having shared the stage with key figures of the Colombian alternative scene—such as Revolver Plateado, Salidos de la Cripta, and Animal Cosmic—Pchko stands out as a highly exportable proposal. Their ability to inhabit the everyday through a vanguardist lens makes them a perfect bridge between Colombian folk traditions and global urban-indie trends. It is, at its heart, a space where one can dance, think, and resist under the same pulse.
