Francis Soal

Francis Soal is a SAMA-award winner singer, producer, and multiinstrumentalist from Cape Town, South Africa. His debut album, 'Hindsight 2020', is a multi-genre concept album that explores themes of digital identity and existential dread. The album won the South African Music Award for Best Alternative Album at the 31st SAMAs. The album was recorded at Concept Records over a five-year period, and features a core band of Ray Morgan (drums), Ben Jamieson (bass), and Juan Khan (guitar).

Francis Soal is the digital alter ego of Benjy de Kock, and musician and producer who has performed and recorded with bands including TexasRadio, Coriander Colin, and The Rudimentals. He is also the co-founder of Concept Records, an independent recording studio and record label, where he has co-produced several albums by local artists including Kujenga, Internet Athi, Kitso Seti, the Sun Quintet, and Nobuhle Ashanti.
