Born and raised in the vibrant township of Soweto, South Africa, D’Hlonè is a multifaceted artist whose life has been deeply intertwined with music from an early age. Known offstage as Lehlohonolo Petros Mphuthi, he has transformed his passion into a career that blends creativity, technical expertise, and cultural depth.

After matriculating, D’Hlonè pursued a Diploma in Sound Engineering, graduating among the top of his class and receiving numerous awards for academic and technical excellence. His foundation in sound engineering laid the groundwork for a journey through the professional audio world, where he worked with various companies as a sound engineer before fully embracing his calling as a musician.

Today, D’Hlonè stands out as a versatile producer and recording artist. While he produces music primarily for himself, he frequently collaborates with other artists both behind the boards and on the mic. His sound is a rich tapestry that merges genres—anchored by his signature hip hop influence, infused with the rhythmic pulse of Amapiano, and elevated by a classical sensibility that reflects his broad musical background.
