B-One Shakazulu

Born Benedi Mbossa Mbossa, B-One Shakazulu is a Congolese singer-songwriter and performer from Brazzaville, whose powerful voice and captivating melodies have resonated far beyond the borders of the Congo.
His passion for music emerged after an early interest in football. Fully dedicating himself to his craft, he developed a signature sound he calls "Afro Lengossi" ,a bold fusion of Afrobeat rhythms and purely Congolese folk influences, rooted in what he defines as Afro/Mbokalisation/Mopacho. His lyrics, sung in Lingala, explore themes of love, motivation and education with remarkable depth and sincerity.
He began his career as the leader of the group Terminator Music, which he left in 2023 to embark on a solo journey. His first singles, Bassi Bakata and Modoubin, quickly went viral on TikTok and climbed the Congolese charts, establishing him as a serious force in the African music scene.
Throughout 2023, he released a prolific string of tracks: Pouvoir, Kelassi, Bwanga, Le Savoir, Mboutou Mboutou, and Mopacho, among others. It is Le Savoir that brought him his greatest exposure to date, accumulating over 6 million views on YouTube since December 2024. In 2024 and 2025, he continued building momentum with notable releases including Lobé Lobé feat. Zaparo, Alleluia feat. Tidiane Mario, and a remix of Le Savoir alongside renowned Congolese artist Afara Tsena. His debut album is expected in mid-2026.
On the live scene, B-One has built an impressive track record. He was invited to perform in Luanda by the Alliance Française for the Fête de la Musique in June 2025, received nominations at the Kunde Awards in Burkina Faso in the Best Artist of Central Africa category, at the Congo Best Awards 2024, and at the Tradi-Moderne Awards 2026 in the DRC, and took home the Bala Bala Awards 2026. His song Le Savoir also received notable recognition from CAF in 2025, featured in a TikTok post dedicated to the Cameroonian national football team.
With over 125,000 followers on TikTok, 60,000 on Facebook, 39,000 on YouTube, and a growing presence on Spotify and Apple Music , where his listeners are concentrated primarily in the United States, France, Canada, the United Kingdom and Nigeria, B-One Shakazulu stands today as one of the most exciting and promising voices in contemporary Congolese music.
