The Relics are an up and coming band from Washington, D.C. who blend many different styles into one. Drawing from many different influences including reggae, blues and jazz The Relics combine them all to form a new and ever expanding sound. Overflowing with talent the musical styles of Menlik Zergabachew (Vocals), Marco Escobar (Bass), Noah Bonaiuti (Guitar) and Obi Igbo (Percussion) have been wooing audiences since 2012. Having played gigs in and around the Washington D.C. area The Relics are creating quite a buzz.
The Relics share a deep passion for music that dates back to when Noah and Menlik met in middle school. They knew from that moment that they would form a band together one day. That dream became a reality when they met Marco and Obi in late 2012. The Relics have an amazing chemistry and feed off one another on stage. Noah’s guitar riffs rip through amps and are backed flawlessly by a heavy dose of bass from Marco. Obi brings it all together with smooth beats that really round out the bands sound out nicely. Not to be out done, Menlik has tremendous stage presence that is paired with vocals that carry the bands message to the audience.
Together the band spreads the messages of love, unity, humanity, peace and community. The upbeat theme of the band’s music is sure to win over the hearts of any skeptic as its evidently clear The Relics are giving 100% of their heart from a grassroots movement.
Even though The Relics have only been together less than a year they already have a full calendar of gigs up and down the east coast. The band is currently working with world-renowned producer Jim Fox on their first EP.
