Negash Ali

Bio

Negash Ali (born 27 November 1990) is an Eritrean-Danish Artist and Songwriter signed to Warner Chappell Music. Negash has worked with and written for artists like Chris Brown, Bob Sinclar, Manu Dibango and many more.
Negash was born shorty after his family fled their home in Eritrea near the end of the country's conflict with Ethiopia. His life has been shaped by the challenges and inequalities he faced being a refugee in a new and different environment. These and his family are recurring themes in the personal and always strong lyrics.

Having gravitated heavily towards rap and urban music from a very early age, he was quickly pronounced one of the biggest prodigies in Danish Music by the media at the mere age of 13.

The breakthrough came when he was 16 and joined the successful group Majors, which also consisted of DMC winner DJ Noize. The album was critically acclaimed and the group performed at such places as Popkomm, Roskilde and Europe’s 2 biggest hiphop festivals, Splash and HipHopKemp.
The subsequent year Negash’ debut album 'Asmarino' was released in Denmark and the US. The album paved the way for performances in Los Angeles, Paris, London, Stockholm, Berlin and Cairo in cooperation with Livenation.

His sophomore effort 'GhettoPOP' was met with lavish reviews and a nomination for 'Best Urban Album Of The Year'. The first single 'In This Club' was received well by radio and reached number 5 on the Urban DanceChart. The album was released through Negash's own label, GhettoPOP Ent. Negash' first placement as a songwriter is Jadakiss Ft. Chris Brown – 'Get Twisted', where he co-wrote the hook with the Danish producer team Pitchshifters.
Negash has done features for several acts such as Outlandish, Kato, Morten Breum and many more.
