Nda Chi
Bio
Nda Chi — Le Menshi is a Cameroonian vocalist, songwriter, dancer, performer and creator of LessaGroove 432Hz, a contemporary African stage language rooted in the ancestral Lessa rhythm of Baleng, in the Grassfields of West Cameroon.
Born in Baleng, Nda Chi brings together Bamiléké heritage, ritual voice, movement, ancestral percussion, Afro-soul, reggae, gospel, funk, electronic textures and live performance. His work is carried by the idea that “the stage is a ceremony”: a space where voice, body, memory and rhythm reconnect audiences to ancestral presence and collective emotion.
As Le Menshí — the voice of the ancestors and the people, Nda Chi develops a musical universe that moves between tradition and contemporary creation. His performances integrate voice, dance, Kwifo, sanza, castanets and embodied rhythm, creating immersive concerts shaped for festivals, cultural institutions, residencies, workshops and international stages.
A Gold Medalist at the XI Jeux de la Francophonie 2023, Nda Chi has also been associated with major Cameroonian music and performance platforms including MützigStar, while building a body of work that includes Ngí Ngùng, Mengwi and the current project MENSHÍ.
Through LessaGroove, Nda Chi positions Cameroonian and Bamiléké memory within a global conversation on African music, spirituality, performance and cultural transmission.
