Bio

Born on 31 March 1983, The Dogg (real name Martin Morocky) is a Namibian kwaito musician. Born in exile in Zambia in 1983, he returned to Namibia in 1989. In 1997 he moved from the village of Onayena to Windhoek, where he had his secondary education. Upon finishing high school, Morocky enrolled for a Science degree at the University of Namibia. He left university after one academic year to pursue a career in music. The artist had challenges to compile his album but managed to get help from an artist called Gazza. The two started recording and received assistance from a producer called Elvo to record, ‘Ghetto Life’. The artist featured on Gazza’s hit, ‘Shidolodolo’, which was well received. The song won an award for Best Collaboration category at the 2004 Sanlam-NBC Music Awards.

His debut album, ‘Shimaliw' Osatana’, was released in 2004. The album was one of the country’s first full-length kwaito albums. The artist later released albums such as ‘Take Out Yo Gun’ (2004), ‘Introducing TeeDee’ (2006), ‘This Is My Time’ (2009), ‘The Power of 7 – Elevating Elevators’ (2010),‘The Deception’ and ‘Live or Die’ (2013). In 2004, The Dogg formed a group called Omalaeti O'Swapo with Gazza, Elvo and Pablo. He also owns Mshasho Productions and Mshasho Clothing.
