Open call: 2026 South African Music Awards
The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) has opened submissions for the 2026 South African Music Awards (SAMAs), inviting artists, producers, labels, and independents to enter their work for consideration.
The submission for entries is 31 January 2026. In the photo: South African artist Thandiswa Mazwai won four awards at the 2025 edition of SAMAs.
The awards cover over 30 genre categories, recognising a wide range of South African music from chart-topping hits to underground releases.
“We have had an incredible year, marked by the hybrid triumphant staging of the milestone SAMA31,” RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi said. “Now we are fired up and raring to go with SAMA32 preparations. We have seen an increased number of entries in the past years and we hope to maintain this.
“It is a much-valued vote of confidence in our systems from the industry that we cherish. We call on the industry to come along and ensure that SAMA32 is for the books. We look forward to an overwhelming response from deserving music practitioners.”
Artists should submit upload their entries here before 31 January or by physically delivering them to the address below:
Unit 1, 152 Bram Fisher Drive, Randburg (Monday to Friday, during office hours)
