Benito Leconse

Benito Leconse, stage name of Benito Cito Pericles, born August 8, 1998, in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo, is a Congolese singer-songwriter.

Nicknamed “HOMME CLASS” (Class Man), his music blends R&B, Afrobeat, Rap, and Pop with Congolese Rumba.

In 2005 at the age of 7, he began singing in a local church, a Sunday school choir led by his mother Aridja Amisi, who was also a singer in that same church.

Influenced by Michael Jackson, Papa Wemba, Gims, Stromae, Vianney, Lucky Dube, Charles Mombaya , in 2009, at the age of 11, Benito Cito Pericles became interested in music and began writing his own songs about social life, love, peace and the situation in his country.

In August 2012, he adopted the stage name Jack Bison Leader. Jack because he was Michael Jackson's biggest fan and would dance his routines at school events.
Bison is a robust animal, similar to a buffalo or ox, symbolizing strength (And its logo is a bison head.) and Leader means someone who directs and guides.

In August 2019, at the age of 21, he adopted the name Benito Le Conseiller (Benito the Advisor) because he sings with the aim of advising, raising awareness, educating, and instructing people in all areas (love, social issues, religion, faith, politics, and culture).

In August 2022, he changed his stage name from LE CONSEILLER to LECONSE in order to create a unique name for himself. "LE CONSE" can be interpreted as a misspelling of Le Conseiller.

LECONSE is not a shortened version of the name Le Conseiller; Le Conse is the new name that Benito Cito Pericles gave himself, which also has its own meaning, although it rhymes well with Le Conseiller.

LECONSE, it's a modernization of the name Lenkosi, Inkosi or Nkosi, in the African language Zulu meaning "chief, king, lord," which is a shortened form of "Mandlenkosi," meaning "The strength of God" or "The power of the Lord, divine support."
Therefore, LECONSE represents a firm assurance or the faith of being supported by divine power in all things.
However, Leconse on its own means "king," "chief," "master," or "leader".
