Bio
Simmysimmynya (born Simphiwe Peta) is a rapper from South Africa. His journey into music began in his formative years entering talent shows and eventually began recording at the age of 16.
He has performed in major clubs in Cape Town as well as large-scale events like Rocking The Daisies. His
performances have seen him share stages with AKA and Black Motion, headlining shows alongside Riky Rick, Nasty C and Emtee.
In the past, he appeared on Ginger Trill’s “Forrest Guap” as well as Stiff Pap’s “Maradona”. Rapping in both vernac and English has been part of his journey since he first started releasing music. In 2019 he was a KZN regional finalist in the first Puma SportscenexPutMeOn competition.
His latest offering “Broken Crayons Still Colour 2: Not Your Average” (2020) featured on Okay Africa’s “6 South African Rap Albums and
EPs to Stream Right Now”. Later in 2020 he released a single titled “Mosh Ivibe” which caught attention from DJ PH and landed him his first airplay on the national radio station, Metro FM.
