UMG partners Liquidax Capital to advance AI patent development
Universal Music Group (UMG) has announced a partnership with intellectual property asset management firm Liquidax Capital to accelerate the development and commercialisation of its music-related artificial intelligence (AI) patents.

UMG has filed 15 AI-related patents with Liquidax Capital to date, focusing on areas such as musical collaboration, multi-media content and campaign creation, music and health, AI threat protection, and rights management. Two of these patents have already been granted.
Under the new partnership, Liquidax Capital will support UMG in developing, filing and licensing new patents, with the aim of bringing innovative products to market and strengthening UMG’s portfolio of AI technologies.
In conjunction with the deal, a new company, Music IP Holdings, Inc. (MIH), has been established to license the developed patents and technologies into the global market.
