Session Studio claims first with Connex music credit integration
Session Studio, a platform for capturing and managing music metadata at the point of creation, has announced it is the first creator tool to integrate directly with Connex, the new industry standard for music credit management.

The integration allows music creators to export song metadata, credits, and rights information directly from Session Studio into Connex. This development ensures that accurate credit data flows seamlessly to labels, publishers, and distributors — even during the music creation process.
With Connex already adopted by major players such as Universal Music Group, this compatibility places Session Studio at the centre of the industry’s evolving metadata ecosystem.
“Missing or incomplete credits have been a persistent challenge in the music industry for decades,” Session Studio co-founder Niclas Molinder said. “Session Studio was built to give creators control over their data from the very first note. By integrating directly with Connex, we’re helping creators protect their work, streamline industry workflows, and ensure that when music is played, everyone involved is properly credited and paid.”
The new feature enables users to generate Connex-ready metadata packages with just a few clicks. The exported data — including contributor names, roles, shares, and rights — is formatted to DDEX standards, making it easy for industry stakeholders to process. This automation reduces manual errors, flags missing credits, and speeds up resolution of conflicts, ultimately shortening the time between studio session and royalty pay-out.
The announcement forms part of Session Studio’s broader mission to professionalise metadata capture at the point of creation. By bridging the gap between artists and industry infrastructure, the integration sets a new benchmark for credit management in the digital music era.
The Connex export feature is now available via the latest version of Session Studio here and through the Session Studio mobile app.
