South Africa-based Congolese musician Tresor has been unveiled as Apple Music’s latest Isgubhu cover star for June.

Tresor expressed his excitement at being chosen, describing the recognition as a major milestone in his ongoing mission to elevate African dance music.
“I am delighted and honoured to be on the cover of Isgubhu for June, as I aim to elevate African dance music here at home and globally, a genre that has been so vital in my musical journey,” Tresor told Apple Music.
To mark the occasion, Tresor has reunited with long-time collaborator Msaki on a new single titled ‘Naliya’, featuring Batundi. The euphoric and melodic electronic track highlights the trio’s seamless musical chemistry, blending emotional depth with infectious rhythm, crafted to resonate on and off the dance floor.
Tresor first rose to prominence in 2015 with the breakout hit ‘Mount Everest’. Since then, he has released four studio albums and collaborated with leading Afro-pop and electronic artists across South Africa and internationally. His global footprint includes co-writing and producing tracks for Canadian rapper Drake, including the hit ‘Fountains’ featuring Nigerian R&B star Tems.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in contemporary African music, Tresor continues to shape the soundscape of the continent with genre-defying productions and cross-cultural collaborations.
In celebration of his Isgubhu feature, Tresor has curated an exclusive playlist for Apple Music, spotlighting tracks that reflect his vision for the future of African electronic music. His selections include ‘Ndisize’ by Cairo & Ami Faku, ‘Sohlala Sonke’ by Dlala Thukzin, and ‘Gorah’ by Nitefreak & Emmanuel Jal.
“I am really enjoying this new wave of African electronic music,” he said. “I have chosen songs with outstanding melodies and rhythm, bringing such amazing colour to African dance music. I think we are entering the most innovative phase of African music ever, and it’s very exciting!”
