Prince Claus Fund introduces international advisory board
The Prince Claus Fund has introduced an international advisory board comprising nine members invited from the fund’s global community of changemakers.
The board will advise Prince Claus Fund on future strategic decisions, reflect on the relevance of the organisation’s mission and offer valuable insight into the local contexts of the regions they are in.
The members are cultural producer Russel Hlongwane (South Africa), visual artist Ibrahim Mahama (Ghana), curator Pooja Sood (India), journalist Nabor Jr (Brazil), curator Maya El Khalil (Lebanon), fashion designer and cultural historian Carla Fernández (Mexico), journalist Besa Luci (Kosovo), composer and multi-instrumentalist Nursalim Yadi Anugerah (Indonesia) and multi-disciplinary artist Deborah Anzinger (Jamaica).
“Collaboration, critical reflection and continuous learning has always been the core values of our work,” Prince Claus Fund said. “The International Advisory Board embodies the ‘nothing about us without us’ principle and will help us further learn from the communities we serve, directly involving the changemakers hailing from some of the key localities the Fund works in.
Representing various geographical regions, disciplines, themes and backgrounds, the board members possess excellent track records, longstanding connection with the Prince Claus Fund, and can reflect on the current strategy and the general role of the organisation in a global context.
“Members have experience with and knowledge of engaged cultural practice and community building and can advise on working with our emerging practitioners through Seed Awards as well as further develop our mid-career artist’s programmes through Mentorship Awards.”
The board will meet both online and in person throughout their two-year appointment period. The in-person meeting will either be at the Prince Claus Biennial Symposium in Sri Lanka in December or at the Impact Awards Ceremony in Amsterdam in December 2024.
