
Open call: International Duo Symposium composition competition
Composers around the world are invited to submit scores for the International Duo Symposium composition competition at Northwestern State University in Louisiana, US, from 5 to 7 April 2024.

Eligibility
- Composition must be written for a duo ensemble.
- Any combination of two instruments/voice types (no piano or elaborate percussion/electronic setups).
- Marimba can be provided, but any other percussion equipment is the responsibility of the ensemble.
- Set up time must be less than five minutes.
- Composer age – there is no age limit for composition contestants.
Competition guidelines
- Interested composers should submit their compositions here before 15 January.
- To complete the submission, composers will need to provide a link to the score and a link to a recording (MIDI is sufficient).
- Maximum of two submissions per composer allowed.
- The winner will be announced in February 2024.
The winners’ recital will be held on 7 April and the winning composition performed at the IDS winner’s concert. The winner will be awarded $400.
