Nigerian music exec Dapper shares new single My Type

The Afro-R&B track features Nigerian artists TML Vibez, Singah and Jujuboy. The song blends Afrobeats rhythms with R&B elements and draws on themes of attraction and infatuation.

“‘My Type’ was produced by C-Tea, Deobeats and Dapper himself. The release follows a series of collaborative singles that have formed part of the executive’s developing catalogue as a performer. Previous tracks include ‘Kura’, featuring Yung L and Bhadboi OML, and ‘Scenes’, which features L.A.X, Lasmid, Rybeena and Kashcoming.

Dapper is best known as the founder and chief executive of Dapper Group, an independent music company that includes several subsidiaries across label services, publishing, digital distribution, film and live events. Through the company’s music division, Dapper Music & Entertainment, he has played a role in the rise of artists such as Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi and T.I Blaze.

Industry recognition has followed his work as an executive. In 2023, he was named Executive of the Year on the TurnTable Charts Power List.

Dapper’s activities also extend to live events through Dapper Live, which has produced several concerts and cultural events. One of its projects, Trench Symphony, set a Guinness World Records title for the largest orchestra assembled for an Afrobeats concert during a December event.

‘My Type’ continues Dapper’s efforts to balance his executive role with creative output, positioning him both as a music industry strategist and a collaborating recording artist within Nigeria’s contemporary Afrobeats scene.
