‘Mbali’, which is available for streaming and download on major streaming platforms, has been submitted for Grammy consideration in the Best Global Music Performance and Best African Music Performance categories. The release follows the global acclaim of its accompanying video, noted for its vibrant visuals and uplifting message.
Produced by Yasso, who also worked on Alade’s Grammy-nominated single ‘Tomorrow’ from her 2024 album Rebel Queen, ‘Mbali’ combines afro-pop rhythms with smooth, soulful melodies. Alade described the song as one that fits every mood, whether starting the day, winding down after work, or celebrating African-style.
The single follows her previous release ‘My Padi’ and builds anticipation for her upcoming studio album. Critics say ‘Mbali’ reinforces Alade’s reputation as one of Africa’s leading musical voices, blending cultural identity, positivity and resilience.
Alade’s career continues to grow on the international stage, having performed at events including the AFCON opening ceremony, United Nations, Global Citizen, and for the British Royal Family. With ‘Mbali’, she continues to highlight African creativity and global musical influence.
