Merlin teams up with Audiomack to expand indie music access
Digital music licensing partner Merlin has secured a partnership with streaming platform Audiomack, facilitating access for Merlin’s members to Audiomack’s global audience.
The move forms part of ongoing efforts to expand the digital footprint of Merlin members’ music. The agreement encompasses Audiomack’s Audiomod, which enables fans to customise their listening experience with preset filters like speed up, slow down, adjust pitch, reverb and more.
According to a statement, the deal also focuses on fostering a relationship that delivers substantial value to Merlin’s members and the artists they represent, and enhances Audiomack’s offering with a rich catalogue of high-quality independent music.
“Through Audiomack’s partnership with Merlin, we’re not just amplifying independent music – we’re revolutionising how artists connect with their fans and how fans listen to their music,” Audiomack CEO Dave Macli said. “Merlin members can now claim their artists’ Audiomack accounts to send messages to their fans, and, using Audiomod, those fans can listen to their favourite artist’s music in a brand new way.”
Merlin CEO Jeremy Sirota added: “We are excited to embark on this journey with Audiomack, a platform that shares our passion for amplifying the voices of independent artists. This partnership is a testament to our ongoing mission to open new doors for our members, offer unparalleled opportunities to recording rights holders, and further enrich the global music ecosystem.”
The recent announcement expands Merlin’s partnerships, including a renewed collaboration with Deezer for indie music growth and the launch of the second cohort of its Merlin Engage mentorship programme in March, featuring increased mentors and mentees and introducing new opportunities like a public speaking workshop tailored for the alumni.
For Audiomack, which boasts presence in all 54 African countries, currently reaching more than 25 million monthly users globally, the deal builds upon a recent partnership with AI-powered product suite SymphonyOS to bring pre-save capabilities to listeners on Audiomack and SoundCloud through new integrations.
