Call for entries: Afrochella Rising DJ challenge in Ghana

The contest is open to undiscovered DJs in the country, and aims to showcase their abilities with a performance slot at this year’s Afrochella stage on 28 and 29 December in Accra.

The deadline for entries is 15 November. 

How to enter

• Create a 10 to 15-minute mix featuring artists from this year’s lineup and upload here.
• Submit your application with a link to your mix on the Rising DJ landing page.
• Follow and tag @afrochella, @risingstarafrochella, @tunecore, and @tunecore.africa across social media.

Note: Applicants who need support uploading their song to DSPs should send an email to music@afrochella.com.

How it works

• The top 10 submissions will be selected by a steering committee with Afrochella DJs, TuneCore executives and the Afrochella team.
• The top three entries will be selected by fan votes via social media. Finalists will battle it out at Afrochella’s Music Museum on 27 December.
• Aside from a performance slot on the main Afrochella stage, the ultimate winner will walk away with a cash prize. 

Important dates:

• 15 November: Mixes due.
• 21 November: Top 10 Mixes picked.
• 1 December: Top 3 announced.
• 27 December: Final 3 DJ Battle
• 28 December: Rising DJ Moment at Rising Star stage.

Meanwhile, West African artists Burna Boy and Stonebwoy have been announced as the headliners of this year’s edition of the festival.
