Call for auditions: SA State Theatre community outreach

The call is intended for Tshwane Metropolitan community theatre performing arts groups to showcase their work in musical theatre, drama and dance.

The details are as follows:

• Venue: The South African State Theatre (Studio 4G).
• Date: 11 and 12 February.
• Time: 9am-5pm.

Requirements

• Participating groups must be between the ages of 18 to 35 years.
• Synopses to be emailed or submitted on the day.
• Application forms must be completed in full (application forms can be emailed on request at nompumelelo@statetheatre.co.za or accessed at the State Theatre’s reception).
• Showcase must be not exceed 30 minutes.
• Groups must preregister and book an audition time slot as per the above details.

Six community theatre groups that have qualified will be selected to participate in the SAST’s Mayibuye Community Outreach programme in 2021-22.

The programme includes the following:

• Participation in the EYCT’s workshops for the Mayibuye Community Outreach (MCO) programme.
• Fieldwork mentorship.
• Perform at SAST’s Mzansi Fela – MCO Festival.
