Call for applications: Rwanda music residency for Canadians
Festival Afropolitain Nomade in collaboration with Conseil des arts de Montréal, an arts organisation based in Canada, is inviting professional artists with Canadian citizenship or permanent residency to apply for a musical creation residency in Kigali, Rwanda, from 19 June to 20 July 2020.
The residency will be part of the seventh edition of Festival Afropolitain Nomade in Kigali between 7 and 11 July.
It aims to promote the international exposure and dissemination of the works of Montreal-based professional musicians. It also allows the selected artist to create, with the support of Festival Afropolitain Nomade’s team, a work of up to 45 minutes that will be presented at the closing of the festival.
Five finalists will be selected for the residency. They will be invited to meet the jury after which only one candidate will be selected for the programme.
