Call for applications: Goethe-Institut internship in Nairobi
The Goethe-Institut in Kenya seeks interns from Germany to work at its office in Nairobi.
The ideal candidates will gain experience at Goethe-Institut, participate in the planning and implementation of cultural programmes as well as develop skills required in their career and future employment.
Travel allowances can be applied at the DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service. Information on the travel grant can be found here.
Application process
The length of the internship varies between 12 and 24 weeks from April to July. Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of €100 ($125). Interested applicants should apply here.
The application deadline is 1 December.
Interns are required to prepare a report that serves as the basis of the internship confirmation at end of the placement.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will participate in:
- Programme coordination such as editorial of press releases, preparing programme brochures and execution of events.
- The development and compilation of materials and information for programmes.
- The supervision of artists and speakers.
- The participation of interdisciplinary public relations.
- Research activity for future projects.
Requirements
- Resume/CV.
- Letter of reference (must be written by a professor or lecturer, should include a maximum of one DIN A4 page, give a personal impression of your performance and briefly justify why you are suitable for a placement abroad).
- Clarify your health insurance coverage with your health insurance in Germany before you start the internship.
- Check your accident insurance for the duration of the stay abroad.
- A passport valid for at least six months.
- A return or onward travel ticket must be presented.
