Zethe

Zethembiso Zimela, known professionally as ZETHE, is a singer based in KwaZulu-Natal. Born in 1993 in Ngwelezane, Empangeni, she earned a degree in music from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, majoring in Jazz and graduating in 2016.

ZETHE has a uniquely powerful voice that stands out. Her first singing experiences were in church, where she realized people enjoyed her music.

She has performed at many venues in Durban and Johannesburg, including The Orbit, The Durban Playhouse, and The Durban ICC. ZETHE has been featured on radio shows and TV programs.

In 2017, ZETHE became the first winner of the Vodacom Nxt Lvl competition aired on Mzansi Magic. The mentors helped contestants advance their music careers. South Africa voted ZETHE as their favorite artist, out of the five contestants.

ZETHE released a five-song EP in 2018 and collaborated with other artists.

Other achievements include: being the face of Newtown Junction Mall; owning a musician PR company; performing at the SAMAS; and releasing a headphones range with Rocka.
