Zanoxolo King
Bio
Zanoxolo King is a genre-defying South African vocalist, songwriter, and performer whose music blends raw soul, Afro-R&B, and spiritual storytelling. Rooted in personal truth and social consciousness, his sound carries the weight of lived experience, the poetry of resilience, and the hope of a generation rising.
Born in the heart Eastern Cape and shaped by the struggles and beauty of village life, Zanoxolo King channels his upbringing, activism, and deep cultural awareness into every lyric. A voice for the unheard and a bridge between tradition and contemporary expression, his music speaks to themes of healing, love, identity, and transformation.
His debut single “Oko” marked a powerful entrance into the industry, followed by “Ndiyayazi,” a soulful offering that earned national radio playlisting across 16 major stations. His live performances, including a sold-out one-man show and TV appearances, reveal an artist who commands both presence and vulnerability. He has collaborated with household names such as Phelo Bala, Kamo Mphela, Lebo Sekgobela, Musa Keys and participated in influential campaigns for Stimorol Flow Lab and Converse’s All Star Programme.
Beyond music, Zanoxolo King is an award-winning youth and community development practitioner, and this dual commitment to art and activism informs a unique voice that is both powerful and purposeful. His work is not just entertainment—it is a call to feel, to reflect, and to rise.
With more music set to release in the coming months, Zanoxolo King is carving his path as a bold, conscious voice in South Africa’s music scene and beyond.
