Bio
Yung Sal (Abdul Salam Barrie) is a rapper from Sierra Leone. Born in Freetown, he was raised at Mountain Cut and Horton Street.
Yung Sal, initially a promoter, got into performing after a friend Mickey Jay suggested rapping to the promoter. Afterwards, he recorded his first studio song at RTT Records. His breakthrough came in 2013 with 'Me kin just Gainse'. The title became a popular slogan in Sierra Leonean social media.
Yung Sal, who is CEO of Bari Stars Muzik, has collaborated with several Sierra Leone musicians including Dallas Bantan, Mickey Jay, Solokai, Rhage, Comforter, Buba, Drizilik and others.
