"Complexity can be simplicity, and whatever you bottle up inside can be beautifully articulated through music." This grounding philosophy drives YBB (Young Bhlak Bhulee), the creative identity of 20-year-old South African singer-songwriter Boledi Madisha. Blending neo-soul, Afro-soul, and soulful dance textures into a self-curated category she calls "YB Soul," YBB creates an auditory world that is simultaneously complex, intellectual, and deeply calming.

Born in Mankweng (Turfloop, Limpopo) and currently navigating finance studies in Tshanwe University of Technology, Pretoria, YBB’s sonic foundations run deep. Raised on a strict household diet of modern South African icons like Mlindo the Vocalist and Samthing Soweto, alongside the neo-soul royalty of Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill passed down by her mother, she developed a fierce desire for self-expression. After joining a youth choir in 2019, that spark turned into an obsession, prompting her to pen her first original arrangements that very same year.

YBB’s rise is defined by an unstoppable underground work ethic. Utilizing her phone microphone, a notepad app, and BandLab, she has independently generated a massive 32-song digital archive on SoundCloud. Her prolific output spans nine singles, four critically appreciated EPs (FEWA, fIfTeEn, sacred secrets, geometry of intimacy), and her conceptual playlist-album AMORE VITA LUX. This raw, uncompromised digital presence caught the attention of the industry; acclaimed internet producer Kulture Kat abruptly reached out to YBB to collaborate, sending a library of custom instrumentation that forms the backbone of her upcoming studio recordings.

Beyond the internet, YBB has meticulously honed an assertive, mesmerizing live stage presence. Her performance résumé spans premier cultural hubs across Gauteng and Limpopo, including iconic sets at the South African State Theatre (Black Labone), Ampd Studios, 99 Juta Street, and Lavida Lifestyle. Moving forward with sharp artistic strategy and a refusal to shrink her vision, YBB is currently finalizing her next major milestone: a defining new studio EP scheduled for release.
