The white Bird Band

The White Bird Band (also known as The White Bird Band or simply White Bird) is a pioneering Libyan reggae and pop group founded in 1984. Known for being part of Libya's vibrant but historically under-the-radar cassette tape scene, they gained international recognition recently through reissues by the Habibi Funk label.

Background and History

• Formation: Founded in 1984 by a group of close friends who considered themselves "brothers first".
• Active Years: Though formed in the 80s, they officially began their musical journey in 1990 and released their first album in 1993.
• Style: Their music is a blend of reggae rhythms, synthy disco grooves, and gritty pop, reflecting the unique sonic landscape of Libya from the late 1980s to early 2000s.
• Record Label: Much of their early work was released through LaSilki Records.
