WaffleHouse
Bio
Waffle House is a vibrant and dynamic band that was formed by three talented musicians—Tshidiso Motaung, Mpumelelo Roberts, and Lungile Khanyile—who met at Central Johannesburg College in 2021. What started as a friendship among a “weird but talented” bunch of music students quickly evolved into a powerful musical collective. The band later welcomed Tshegofatso Khunwane, Xiluvelo Mahlaule, and Goldworthy Shikwambana, completing the ensemble and enriching their sound.
Drawing from their jazz background, Waffle House fuses elements of soul, funk, R&B, and traditional African sounds, creating music that is both dynamic and deeply expressive. Their ability to blend various genres allows them to connect with a wide range of audiences, delivering performances that are both authentic and emotionally charged.
With their passion for storytelling through music, Waffle House continues to push creative boundaries and is currently working on new releases, including their highly anticipated EP.
