Vusa Mkhaya

Vusa Mkhaya is a musician-cum-producer from Zimbabwe who doubles as a member of a vocal Imbube trio called Insingizi. He was born on 19 October 1974 and is based in Vienna, Austria. Vusa has been reportedly described as the future of Zimbabwean Music. He studied music theory and Accordion at the Johan Fuchs Music Conservatorium in Graz Austria for 3 years. He is an accomplished songwriter who uses music to tell his own story.

He owns a band comprising of musicians who hail from different countries. The members are Pascal Lopongo from DRC (Acoustic Guitar), Stephan Maass from Germany (Percussion) and Roland Guggenbichler from Austria (Piano).

He has to date released one album as a solo artist and six albums with Insingizi. The title of the album is called ‘Vocalism’. It includes tracks such as ‘Ulele’, ‘Brunnenmarkt’ and ‘Diaspora’. Having lived in Austria for years, his music reflects how Vienna and other European cities have influenced him. His candidness to other cultures and diverse backgrounds has enabled him to come up with music that is highly catching and definitely wonderful.
