uMsibi

Born in Soweto and raised in Alexandra, two townships that are breeding grounds for South Africa’s most unique soundscapes, uMsibi stands apart with his introspective approach to music, blending various elements of his upbringing, culture and beliefs into rhythm and poetry.

Inspired by the likes of J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, he uses language as means to create images and worlds that listeners can grasp. Known to use chord driven, harmonious sounds as a backdrop for his writing, he isn't afraid to let the music speak through him, allowing all his musical influences to shine through.

He has his latest offering “FIN?” which was made in 3 days out now on Soundcloud, a project produced by Remdolla and recorded by Miso Ngubane, which he notes is merely a placeholder for the project that he’s working on behind the scenes , a thematic exploration of self discovery titled “Ubani?”, which he’s finishing up while steadily building an audience that’ll be ready to receive the music.
