Tsholofelo
Bio
Young, African, seasoned singer-song writer and guitarist Tsholofelo is nothing short of a wonder in the contemporary music world. She was born in Richards Bay, North Coast of the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province in South Africa, later relocating with her parents as a young girl to the city of lights, Johannesburg. Eclectic is a word she says best describes her sound, and as with many musicians, Tsholofelo passionately confesses that music has always been escapism and a form of teleportation to which she’s connected with from as young as she remembers.
Tsholofelo is an independent musician who studied music formally at the University of KwaZulu Natal, obtaining her Master of Arts in popular music studies (2023). Her discography includes “Becoming”, a debut album she released in 2017 as well as “Past Two Years”, a sophomore single and music video she released in 2022 through the support of the Music Creation Support Fund courtesy of SAMRO. Furthermore, Tsholofelo’s versatility as an artist knows no bounds as she recently collaborated with the esteemed house music and producer duo, Lemon & Herb, on a single titled “Njenge Nkanyezi”.
Tsholofelo continues to take up space in the arts and culture academic field as well, where in February 2022 she spoke as a virtual speaker at the ACMC 2022 (Arts and Culture Management Conference) held at the University of Deusto in Bilboa, Spain. Consequently, she was chosen as part of the international committee due to organize and present the next conference – ACMC 2023 taking place in Vienna, Austria.
Her discography, ”Becoming” as well as “Past Two Years” is available for purchase and streaming on all major digital outlets such as iTunes, Spotify, and Apple Music.
