TrackSide Creative Studios
Bio
Trackside was established on 2014, founded by artists and parents to Kopanokematla, Mambila Mageza and Nthabiseng Letsoso, Trackside Creative was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to breathe new life into Mambila’s fathers funeral parlour through music. What began as a reclaimed space for sound and gathering soon evolved into a creative hub.
Trackside Creative is a multidisciplinary art hub based in Orlando West, Soweto, dedicated to nurturing bold expression, collaboration, and creative excellence. Rooted in one of South Africa’s most culturally significant neighbourhoods, the hub provides a vibrant platform where artists, storytellers, and cultural practitioners come together to create, learn, and share.
Trackside Creative has hosted and curated a range of impactful performances, exhibitions, listening sessions, and live showcases, spotlighting both emerging and established talent. Its space has become known for intimate live music performances, poetry readings, visual art showcases, fashion pop-ups, and community-driven cultural events that attract creatives and audiences from across Soweto and beyond. These shows have positioned Trackside as a trusted incubator for new voices and experimental work.
Supporting creatives across music, visual arts, fashion, film, literature, and performance, Trackside Creative offers opportunities for skills development, collaboration, and cultural exchange. At its core is a belief in storytelling, community ownership, and creativity as tools for social impact and economic empowerment.
By bridging heritage and contemporary culture, Trackside Creative amplifies authentic voices and lived experiences while pushing creative boundaries. More than a space, Trackside Creative is a growing cultural movement committed to building a sustainable creative ecosystem grounded in collaboration, inclusion, and artistic freedom.
