Bio

Tiwa Savage (real name Tiwatope Savage) was born and grew up in Lagos, Nigeria she is a singer/songwriter signed to Sony USA record label.

She studied Business Administration at the University of Kent, UK, before attending the famous Berklee College of Music, from which she graduated in 2007. She began her music career in the UK, touring as a backing singer for such International acts like Mary J Blige, Sting, Kelly Clarkson, George Michael and The Spice Girls.

She is signed to Sony ATV as a songwriter. She co-wrote the track “Collard greens and Cornbread” on Fantasia’s Grammy nominated album “Back to me”, Monica’s “New Life”, and also has background vocal credits on Whitney Houston’s 2009 album “I look to You".

She released her debut single "Kele kele" on her own label 323 Entertainment in 2010, becoming an instant hit. In December 2011, she co-hosted the popular TV show Nigerian Idol Season II and acted alongside Nigerian acting legends Joke Silva and Ireti Doyle in the stage adaptation of “For Coloured Girls”.

In 2012, she teamed up with Super-Producer Don Jazzy, on his Mavin Records venture, featuring on its debut compilation album. She then released her debut album "Once Upon a Time" in 2013. Tiwa Savage is the first female African artist to endorse the Pepsi brand.

Her sophomore album "R.E.D (Romance Expression Dance)" was released in 2015.
