Bio
Mothibedi Katlego Sehata, Born in Malelodi, Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa, he is best known as Thibe Da King (formerly known as Thibe Da Kid), he is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer from Pretoria, Gauteng. From childhood, he was given the name Thibe by his grandmother, shortened from being named after his grandfather. Thibe Da King was mainly raised in Nellmapius, he grew up a creative environment with interests from the arts to music, comics, and games, which served as an escape from a crazy world he describes.
Later in life, just when he had started university, he broke his leg, which he explains was the worst and best thing to happen to him. This made him to start focusing on music more, he later formed a hiphop duet with his high school friend called Complex which was his introduction phase, until they both opted to focus on solo careers. The split led Thibe Da King to release his 1st mixtape Childsplay: Kindergarten misfit” on 10 October 2014 under the alias Thibe Da Kid which really put him on and got him noticed on the hip-hop circuit. He followed up the year after his EP "Weirdo" and that got him a lot of media breakthroughs as his single "Bravo" made it to Trace, Channel O and most music and radio platforms.
Thibe has been putting out his work independently as he is not signed yet to any labels except his own (Dreamcartel), but that's not stopping him as his rise, following, and influence are gradually growing He has already opened up for acts like Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, Ricky Rick, Benchmarq to name a few, shows like Homecoming, Find the chill, The Sunday Cookout, Trace: Feta Del Musique, and Balcony TV Sunrise, and Cliff Central under his belt.
