Bio

Tehn Diamond (real name Tendai Nguni) is a Zimbabwean artist who was born on 17 January 1985. His father is a politician who once saved as the Minister of State in former Vice President Joyce Mujuru’s office. His music is sung in hip-hop and rap genres. He grew up in Borrowdale, one of the leafy suburbs in Harare. He attended school He is also a song writer. He is a member of the hip-hop collective Few Kings. He attended school at St George's College. He later moved to Brisbane, Australia to pursue a degree in finance. He dropped out to pursue a music career.

In 2008, the Federal Government of Australia announced it would revoke student visas for eight children of senior members of President Robert Mugabe’s regime. Unfortunately Tendai Nguni was one of them. He moved to Singapore where he continued to explore his music talent. Whilst in Singapore, Tehn Diamond performed over 800 shows. He is now based in Zimbabwe. His career began with ‘Student of the Game - Higher Learning’ in 2008 and its follow-up titled ‘Student of the Game - Boys will be Boys’ in 2010. The group received a good following earning him a National Arts Merits Award (NAMA) for Best Video in 2012.

In December 2014, he embarked on a tour of Zimbabwe. He has done a number of collaborations with other fellow artists such as The Djembe Monks, tribal house music group from Bulawayo. He also performed at Africa's biggest reality eviction show Big Brother. His song titled ‘Happy’ was nominated in the Best Song of the Year category at the Zim Hip Hop Awards. On 14 February 2015, he opened for Cassper Nyovest at 1+1 Long Cheng Plaza in Harare. On 11 May 2015, he released a video ‘The Year Before rap’.
