Team Gypsy

Team Gypsy is a music group from Malawi made up of three producers (Sean Focus, Wizaymes and Big Y) and two songwriters (BoiMagic). The group was co-founded by singer Theo Thomson. Their music is a collection of hip-hop, RnB and Afro-pop genres. The outfit rose to fame with the ‘One Life Stand’ single. The song was well-received. It stood on number one on local radio stations for four consecutive weeks.

In June 2010, they launched their debut album at Comesa Hall. A few songs from the album featured on their DVD. The videos appeared on MTV-Base Africa and Channel O. This was followed with the release of a single called ‘Wakuba’. In 2011, they were nominated in the RnB category at the Malawi Music Awards. They won the award.
