Takue SBT

Takue SBT, born Bradley Sibanda, is a Zimbabwean music producer and one of the most promising young talents redefining contemporary African dance music. Emerging from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, specifically the Magwegwe North area, Takue SBT has gained recognition for his self-taught production style, youthful innovation, and commitment to African musical identity. While still in his teens—reportedly aged 19 as of late 2024—he has already begun carving a distinctive space within the African and international music landscape.

Takue’s relationship with music began at an early age, driven by curiosity and emotional connection. However, it was during primary school (Grade 6) that he began to seriously explore music production and creative composition. Encouraged by his brother, who played a formative role in nurturing his confidence and discipline, Takue committed himself to learning music independently, refining his sound through experimentation, repetition, and an intuitive understanding of rhythm and melody.

As a self-taught producer, Takue SBT quickly distinguished himself through a refined approach to African dance music, blending hypnotic grooves with contemporary electronic textures. His early releases, including “Chimemwe” and “Iskaba,” were met with critical appreciation, positioning him as a rising producer with an instinctive feel for movement-driven music. These tracks laid the groundwork for his growing reputation among fellow producers, artists, and listeners across the continent.

His breakthrough moment came with the release of “Ingozi,” a collaboration with Lalla Martin, which significantly expanded his audience and solidified his standing as a talent to watch. Characterised by smooth, enveloping rhythms and a distinctive musical gimmick, “Ingozi” exemplifies Takue SBT’s ability to create music that is both modern and deeply rooted in African sonic traditions. The track has been praised for its emotional resonance, dancefloor appeal, and authenticity.

Although still early in his career, Takue SBT has already collaborated with notable producers and musicians across Africa and beyond. He is reportedly based between Zimbabwe and Johannesburg, South Africa, reflecting a growing regional footprint as he continues to build professional networks and refine his craft.
