Established in 1935, The Sunday Mail is one of the leading family newspapers in Zimbabwe. It is published by Zimbabwe Newspapers 1980 Limited. It is published in Harare under the Zimbabwe Newspapers (Zimpapers) stable. The weekly publication is controlled by the state and has on several occasions been accused of being a mouth piece of the government. The paper reports on politics, business, sports and entertainment. It features an in-depth analysis of arts and culture articles from renowned writers and journalists.
The newspaper has on several occasions been criticized by the civil society for reporting biased news in favor of ruling part ZANU-PF.
