Sultan Clintone

Bio

Born to a family of three siblings, Sultan Clintone is the youngest of the three. As an adolescent Clintone lost both of his parents, and through music he found an escape and loved it. Soon after he discovered his talent for music.

After the tragic loss of his beloved parent’s Clintone was raised by Lino Okello and Rose Oyuro who he considers his parents as well. Once again destiny alerted Clintone to use his music talent to help those who suffered the same lose as him.

Lino Okello is a guitar player who motivated Clintone to pursue his dream of becoming an African musician, and through this motivation Clintone brought to fruition the lost dream that his father created before he past away. At the age of three, Clintone’s biological father took him to a concert in Congo to witness Koffi olomide. This concert allowed him to incorporate Congolese music style in his work.

As a Sudanese, Clintone created a unique style of music that's composed of both the Congolese style and Sudanese rhythms; furthermore, the name Sultan Clintone is a derivative of his biological father's common name in his village, and the name Clintone was given to him by his friends, who compared him to a band member in Wenge Musica MM. The name echoed with him and he kept it.
