Steven Sokuyeka

Steven Sokuyeka is a trombone player and trombone assistant teacher from Cape Town, and that's where he currently stays. He grew in up in Nyanga, He's father was the trumpeter Roy "Sokuyeka"Roode. He was always in music spaces in around Artist and mostly musicians. He loved Music and Art with his heart.
He picked up trumpet tought by his father and mostly inspired by friends. After few years he picked up trombone After being asked by Duke Ngcukana to play it in Cups Nkanuka's Big Band. He fell in love with the trombone and getting inspiration from From Jonas Gwangwa.
He played and worked in Jazz bars in Cape Town around South Africa. Festivals around the South Africa; Grahamstown national youth Jazz festival, Cape Town international Jazz festival, Cape Town Big Band Festival, Jazz-a-thon, Standard bank Joy Of Jazz. He's recently started a Sextet project it has performed in few venues in Cape Town.
