Born on 26 August 1992 in Ladysmith, Skhanga has immersed himself in the rich tapestry of his cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from traditional Maskandi music while seamlessly blending it with contemporary Afro-Pop elements. Since embarking on his musical journey in 2024, Skhanga has quickly carved out a niche for himself. His debut EP, iCrush Yami, is a testament to his talent and creativity, comprising four dynamic tracks that have collectively garnered over 1 million streams across digital platforms. The standout single, 'Nguyen Impela Umaqondana', became a viral sensation, captivating listeners not only with its catchy melody and relatable lyrics but also inspiring more than 20 000 user-generated videos on TikTok.
