Simthandile

Jazz and Soul songstress Simthandile Mtolo is a seasoned South African singer, composer and lyricist. She holds an extensive track record as an all rounder within the creative field.
Her impressive record as the go to for corporate entertainment has had her perform in some of the best hotels, events and conferences in South Africa. Verv Cliquot, Native Child, Nivea, IBV International Volts Umhlanga and Hik Vision are some of brands she has serviced. Simtha has also performed in some of the most sought after clubs and restaurants including The Marabi Jazz Lounge and The Chairman, and has made her fair share of festival appearances including The Durban Port Festival the Macufe Indoor Jazz Experience where she performed alongside Sibongile Mngoma, Brenda Mntambo, Khanyo of Sarafina and a star studded orchestra in 2019.
Simthandile holds an impressive 18 year track record as a professional music practitioner who has built an outstanding reputation and a wide repertoire of Jazz, Soul, RnB, Afro-Soul and Neo-Soul music.

In November of 2021, an impromptu improvisation during a performance with the MIAGI Pan African Jazz Ensemble for the Intra-African Trade Fair resulted in an invitation to visit and work in Ghana as a feature in Nativ Afrik’s Album titled Karma. This would open the door to her experimenting with new sounds inspired by High Life (Native Ghanaian), Umbhaqanga (Native South African) and Afro Beat (Nigerian). Shortly after, Simthandile would be awarded The Concerts SA Mobility Fund in March 2022 which she chose to do with the Nativ Afrik Band. Simthandile is an extraordinary musician with an excellent stage presence. Her performances are rich and often socially inclusive as she enjoys interacting with her audiences and offering them a chance to sing along to new and original songs.
She is currently living in Thailand, gaining inspiration while expanding her identity and international reach.
