Shafik Muzyk

Shafik Muzyk is a Ugandan Born Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist and Music producer who believes that the power of his music can help to turn the world in to a better place.

His musical style is made up of unique sound of acoustic folk soul and percussion that he believes brings out his African background.
His mother's passion for music and creativity was a great cornerstone for Shafik's love for Music.

Throughout a lot of his Teenage years however, he kept away from singing because of his Moslem religious background and opted to acting and script writing although music kept calling him. It was in his mid-teenage years that he wrote one of her first songs “Don’t Cry” which he dedicated to his mother.

Shafik's lyrics and music are derived from real life experiences, fantasies, passions, emotions and are messages he aches to converse. Shafik has always written and sang while playing his guitar to find freedom, express his passions, bring out his inner most being and find a way to deal with tough moments. He says, “My mother was my best friend and music is her perfect replacement”.
His acting ability has contributed to his music a lot, as he is always able to connect with what he is singing about even if he has never gone through the situation he sings about.

As a God fearing man, he has grown to respect and value emotions, as it is the core of his work. He believes that Art with no emotions is lifeless and hopes to create Music that inspires, affects and changes the lives of people that encounter it.

Shafik's ultimate goal as a musician is for his music to construct the world that he dreams of. A world so full of passion, harmony and filled with utmost love. He wishes the world could sing the song he sings which is evident in one of his songs “Help me sing”.
