Sauti Marley

Sauti Marley is a talented Tanzanian singer, guitarist, and songwriter, making his way in the world of music with his own brand of Afro Fusion and socially conscious lyrics. Currently residing and working in Bagamoyo as a music educator, Sauti Marley's artistic journey began to unfold in 2013 at the TASUBA College of the Arts, where he immersed himself in the world of music.

Initially starting as a percussionist with the Tongwa Band, Sauti Marley's passion for musical expression quickly evolved. In 2017, he took a bold step forward, transitioning into a singer-songwriter role. This pivotal move allowed him to channel his creativity into crafting original compositions that delve into pertinent issues within his local society. Sauti Marley's lyrical narratives often touch upon themes such as education, culture, poverty, and love, reflecting his deep connection to the people and stories around him.

In 2021, Sauti Marley formed his own ensemble, the Mambo Band. This collaborative effort marked a new chapter in his musical journey, enabling him to explore and expand the boundaries of his Afro Fusion sound. The culmination of this work came to fruition with a debut performance at the Bagamoyo International Music Festival in 2023.  He has also performed at Bagamoyo Festival with other bands on many occasions and at ZIFF, Zanzibar in 2015 and the Ilimba Festival in Arusha in 2019.

Currently, Sauti Marley is deeply engaged in the creative process, dedicating his time to writing new material and refining his musical experience with Mambo Band. As they continue to hone their craft, audiences can expect to hear rich melodies and thought-provoking lyrics that transcend borders and resonate with a broader audience.
