ROMY2FONZ
Bio
Romy2fonz (Fonkeu Lomual) is a Cameroonian activist‑artist whose music was forged in exile and political persecution. After publicly denouncing Cameroon’s president as a “puppet of France,” Lomual received direct threats to his life and fled his home country in 2016 to survive.
Now based in Johannesburg, Romy2fonz has transformed displacement into defiance. With no industry backing or safety net, he rebuilt his life from the streets by selling his own CDs, performing publicly, and using music as both testimony and resistance. His songs draw directly from exile, memory, struggle, and hope, blending activism with deeply personal storytelling.
For Romy2fonz, music is not entertainment, but it is survival, truth‑telling, and a refusal to be silenced. From death threats to Johannesburg pavements, he continues to turn loss into voice and fear into purpose.
