Thabo Masina also known as Rock Ruler, was born in Mpumalanga, Rock was more than a drummer, he was the heartbeat of a revolution born in the streets of Soweto, Mzimhlophe to be precise. As part of the groundbreaking trio Shameless, he helped pioneer a sound that blended raw rock energy with township soul, a sound proudly known as iroc yase kasi and Nkabi Rock.

Rock Ruler was a father, a businessman, a friend, and above all, a creator whose passion lit up every stage he touched. His drumming wasn’t just music — it was storytelling, power, and spirit. He carried the culture in his hands, and with every beat, he pushed the boundaries of what South African rock could become.
