Rivoningo Nkuna
Bio
Rivoningo is a Xitsonga Afrofuturistic musician, chef, singer-songwriter, and entrepreneur passionate about innovation. Born in Soweto and raised in Pretoria, she redefines sound and storytelling, blending traditional Xitsonga heritage with elements of African, jazz, and Neo Soul.
Committed to preserving cultural heritage while pushing the boundaries of artistic expression, Rivoningo uses her music to challenge the arts and entertainment industry with a fresh, open-minded perspective.
She has performed at prominent South African platforms, including The South African State Theatre Fringe Festival, Standard Bank Joy of Jazz and has worked with renowned artists like Koleka Putuma, Mpumi Dhlamini, and Dudu Makhoba to name few.
Rivoningo has also hosted a show sponsored by Concerts SA, featured for 2 weeks on Tshwane FM's Capital Breakfast, and been involved in various musical theatre productions.
Her single Ndawini is available across all digital platforms, and she is also a member of the band Flex of He and I.
As a creative strategist, Rivoningo continues to break new ground, using her storytelling to inspire and empower audiences, particularly within the African diaspora. She is also an entrepreneur, blending her love for food and music to create unique cultural experiences.
Currently, Rivoningo is preparing to release her album Vutomi and is excited to continue exploring new musical landscapes and experiences.
