Rifumo is the answer to a question pop music stopped asking: 'Where did the showmen go?' Operating out of Johannesburg under his own imprint, Summer Soft, Rifumo is an artist determined to save the 'Performing Artist' from extinction.

Driven by the friction between two internal forces—Fumi, the fearless technician obsessed with excellence, and Preye, the global explorer hungry for connection—Rifumo rejects the 'low-effort' era of modern pop. Instead, he channels the discipline of what it takes to be a pop artist.

But Rifumo is not a nostalgia act. He filters this high-octane discipline through a lens that is distinctly South African and unapologetically Queer. Much like Janet Jackson's The Velvet Rope era, Rifumo's artistry is fluid and romantically boundless.
