Qadowsh

Bio

Qadowsh (born Aderayo Odebiyi in Lagos) is a soul jazz singer from Nigeria who blends contemporary and classical music.

Her music journey began in high school, where she was a lead singer of a choir. She received an award as the Most Gifted Singer in school. This quest further led her to join a singing group called Lifestyl in Somolu, which saw her exploring music and singing more. She dropped from university to launch a career as an artist. Qadowsh enrolled for a JAMB exam and chose music as her course. In 2014 she graduated from the University of Lagos with a degree in music.

In 2017, Qadowsh won a MTN Scholarship to study a diploma in music. That same year she received an award as the Best Vocalist in her class. While studying, she was part of the Associated Board of Royal School of Music (ABRSM).

Qadowsh plays a couple of musical instruments like the piano, trumpet and violin. She has a song called '​Olusomi'.

She has played the following roles in various musical works and operas:
- Doubled as chorus member, costume, makeup and stage manager in ​Patience by Arthur Sulliva​n 2016.
- In 2016, she was assistant director in ​Don Pasquale By Gaetano Donizetti organised by The Comic Opera house.
- Featured in ​Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with Muson students as the second lady in the “Three Ladies” role in 2017.
- Wore many caps as costume manager, stage manager and makeup artist in La Fille du Régiment in 2017. It was a beautiful outing that got resounding accolades.
- Worked as makeup and costumes manager in ​La Bohême by Giacomo Puccini, which was a MUSON collaboration with the Switzerland Consulate in 2018.
- Makeup artist on D​ on Pasquale​ crew in 2019.
